The first in a planned series of adventures starring the feisty, freckled (and rather oddly-named) Epiphany O'Day, Secrets of the Dragon Wheel is a solid but unremarkable hidden object game packed with adventure, intrigue and murder most foul. There's some good fun to be found within but hidden object veterans would be well-advised to go in with tempered expectations, as it has very little to offer that hasn't been seen before.

Being a cloud of soot must really be a drag. Looking all dark and ominous, gathering in chimneys and smokestacks, it’s a wonder a cloud of soot manages to get anything done. Not Oddy Smog though. He’s a soot cloud with a dream. Peering upwards, he sees white clouds frolicking in a bright blue sky – and he wants you to help him join them.

In a recent article on CNN.com, technology and video game consultant Scott Steinberg made a bold statement about Apple Game Center, the upcoming mobile social gaming platform from Apple. Steinberg called it “the Facebook of mobile gaming.” While his words feel more compliment than criticism, it’s a claim that I can’t help but take umbrage with. Apple Game Center has the potential to be much, much more than simply Facebook for mobile gaming.

Ever think to yourself “why didn’t I think of this?” There will certainly be a number of developers saying this after taking a look at Aqueduct, a new slider/pipe puzzle hybrid for the iPhone. Though certainly not perfect, it shows that a great idea, solidly implemented, can be a great experience.

Poker isn't the most accessible game around, what with its complex rules and subtle nuances. Video game representations of the game tend to run the gamut between being overly realistic, and thus too complicated, or far too simple and lacking much in the way of depth. Governor of Poker 2 manages to find a nice balance in between these two extremes, offering up a poker game that is very accessible without being too simplistic. But if you played the first game, Governor of Poker 2 might be a little too familiar.

The premise of Landformer is incredibly basic. Use a set of limited tools to either lower or raise the landscape to get all the land back to a flat position. It reminded me of the God game Populous or SimCity's terraforming aspects. While in that game flattening the land was just the beginning (since you then needed to build on it), here making the land flat is its own reward... and the only goal you'll be chasing.

During your childhood years, you likely played with some form of construction toys like Lincoln Logs or Tinker Toys, erecting buildings that you bragged about, admired, and eventually destroyed like Godzilla on a bender. Build 'n Bash, a "3D Action Puzzler" developed by Skapp Enterprises, lets iPhone players recapture such nostalgic moments, but it throws in a bonus: instead of destroying your own buildings, you need to bust up those made by other players.
