Slingo Mystery 2: The Golden Escape Review (Downloads)

2nd of December 2010
Gamezebo Rating: 60

I'm going to make this real easy for you. Do you like Slingo? Check out Slingo Mystery 2: The Golden Escape. Don't like it? Think twice. Not sure what Slingo is? Then read on, my friend, and prepare yourself for a descent into a fast-paced, cutthroat world that's neither slots, nor bingo - but Slingo.

Initiation: Ever Played This Game? (Part 2 of 4) (Downloads)

2nd of December 2010

Initiation sounds a little scarier than it actually is – basically, the more relevant experiences and reference points you have for a particular game, the more “Initiated” you are as a member of that game’s audience. When the term “casual games” first entered our industry’s lexicon, this is what we talked about. “Hardcore” gamers were those who had been playing for years, internalizing the rules of their games to the point of second nature. Those “in the know” were considered gamers, and anyone else was not. Then games like Bejeweled challenged these standards and re-visited a time when gaming was in its infancy, and there was no such thing as an “initiated” gamer.

Famous Last Words: Activision sees little value in Facebook, iPhone (Facebook)

2nd of December 2010

Activision CEO Bobby Kotick will either go down in video game history as man who called out the social gaming bubble or the short-sited executive who missed the iPhone and Facebook games opportunity completely.

In an interview with Reuters, Mr. Kotick said his focus was on existing businesses and franchises they control (e.g., Call of Duty and World of Warcraft) and not the newfangled (I added that word for humorous effect) new platforms such as iPhone and Facebook.

Agents! Review (iPhone)

2nd of December 2010
Gamezebo Rating: 60

If you grew up reading Mad Magazine, odds are that you enjoyed the Spy vs. Spy comics that graced its pages. The weird, comically-violent cartoons of two spies trying to kill each other as spectacularly as possible have entertained a lot of people over the years. If you're one of those readers, then Agents! will probably appeal to you.

Zynga buys Newtoy, developer of Words with Friends (iPhone)

2nd of December 2010

Zynga announced today the acquisition of Newtoy. Name doesn’t ring a bell? Newtoy is the mobile game developer of Words with Friends, which may be familiar among the 12 million or so people who have played that game on iOS devices, including the iPhone, iPad, and iTouch.

This acquisition marks a turning point for Zynga in its quest to expand from Facebook and iOS devices. Zynga has been super successful at creating Facebook games (today’s big release of CityVille is just one example) but not as successful so far on the iPhone and iPad.

Bakery Story Walkthrough (iPhone)

2nd of December 2010

Bakery Story is a sweet and engaging online bakery simulation game for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch developed by TeamLava. Develop your Bakery Story as you take a starter bakery, prepare delicious customized treats, and serve them to your customers. Gamezebo’s Bakery Story strategy guide and walkthrough will provide you with a quick start guide, tips, tricks, hints and cheats on how to win.

Bakery Story Review (iPhone)

2nd of December 2010
Gamezebo Rating: 60

We’d like to think that, in any given genre, there are an infinite number of ideas worth exploring. It would seem that TeamLava doesn’t share in that sentiment. For the second release in a row, this powerhouse portable social developer is offering up little more than a re-skin of an earlier title – but unlike the dismal Empire Story (an Roman re-imagining of their earlier City Story) Bakery Story manages to be just as much fun as its predecessor.

Zynga Launches CityVille (Facebook)

2nd of December 2010

Zynga launched CityVille, it's mega city building game.Of course, if you were following CityVille on Gamezebo, you would know this, since we said we’d be first to tell you when it’s released and we are game men (and women) of our word.

And now, you can be among the first in the world to try out CityVille for yourself.
