Cradle of Rome 2 Review (Downloads)

3rd of December 2010
Gamezebo Rating: 80

Cradle of Rome 2 is the sequel to the immensely popular and addictive Cradle of Rome match-3 game. Fans of the series will be happy to know that now much has changed between the two games, so if you were looking for some new Cradle to Rome action look no further. There’s a downside to this however, the game is so similar you may wonder what’s been changed at all.

Terrafarmers Review (Downloads)

3rd of December 2010
Gamezebo Rating: 80

Terraforming is the process of making barren planets and moons habitable for life. Terrafarmers, meanwhile, is the process of turning the well-worn Farm Frenzy game formula into something new and interesting again. Alawar’s latest time management game has a lot in common with the FF series, but it’s more than just the same old game with a sci-fi makeover. Terrafarmers adds plenty of new ideas and twists on the formula to create a fun and fast paced experience that will make you forget about all those terrible spin-offs.

Initiation: Ever Played This Game? (Part 2 of 4) (Downloads)

2nd of December 2010

Initiation sounds a little scarier than it actually is – basically, the more relevant experiences and reference points you have for a particular game, the more “Initiated” you are as a member of that game’s audience. When the term “casual games” first entered our industry’s lexicon, this is what we talked about. “Hardcore” gamers were those who had been playing for years, internalizing the rules of their games to the point of second nature. Those “in the know” were considered gamers, and anyone else was not. Then games like Bejeweled challenged these standards and re-visited a time when gaming was in its infancy, and there was no such thing as an “initiated” gamer.

Famous Last Words: Activision sees little value in Facebook, iPhone (Facebook)

2nd of December 2010

Activision CEO Bobby Kotick will either go down in video game history as man who called out the social gaming bubble or the short-sited executive who missed the iPhone and Facebook games opportunity completely.

In an interview with Reuters, Mr. Kotick said his focus was on existing businesses and franchises they control (e.g., Call of Duty and World of Warcraft) and not the newfangled (I added that word for humorous effect) new platforms such as iPhone and Facebook.
