Haypi Kingdom Review (iPhone)

5th of January 2011
Gamezebo Rating: 70

Haypi Kingdom is a strange game. It looks simple, it’s frequently boring, and it feels like it takes forever to make any real progress. But it’s also incredibly addictive. For all of its faults, of which there are many, Haypi Kingdom is a game that’s hard to put down for long. It seeps into your brain, and before long you’ll be checking back obsessively to ensure your kingdom’s continued prosperity.

Commander Review (Downloads)

5th of January 2011
Gamezebo Rating: 70

As it turns out, blasting asteroids in an 8-bit-inspired galaxy to classical piano music is a pretty Zen experience. Commander – World 1 is a quirky combo of old-school graphics, classic gameplay and snarky wit that provides an interesting challenge to strategy game lovers.

Island Tribe Review (Downloads)

5th of January 2011
Gamezebo Rating: 80

In Island Tribe, a new resource management game by Realore, a small tribe is in for a rude surprise when a silent volcano suddenly erupts and forces the people to flee the island. While the title shares some similarities with other resource management, there are enough changes to the core gameplay for it to stand on its own.

Prediction Number 3: Facebook gets its groove back, but is not the number one in 2011 (Facebook)

5th of January 2011

For Facebook and social games, 2010 was a good, not a great, year. Facebook became the pre-dominant distribution channel for games worldwide with 40%+ of its 500 million usersplaying games and social game companies such as Playdom selling to Disney for $700 million and Zynga on the path to generate $1 billion on revenues based mostly on Facebook distribution.

Yet, Facebook arbitrarily changed its notification rules many times over the year bringing uncertainty to the market and drove many social game companies to the brink of bankruptcy (note: if Zynga or Playdom buys you for next to nothing because you were about to go out of business, you are lucky, not a genius).

In 2011, I predict that Facebook will get its groove back and become a dominant place to play and make money on games worldwide. However, it will not be the number one games distribution channel in the world.

Infinite Realms Review (Facebook)

5th of January 2011
Gamezebo Rating: 80

Infinite Realms takes the strategy gameplay formula used by Travian games (think Kingdoms of Camelot) and applies a sci-fi theme to it. So instead of trying to build farms to build your peasants, you’re generating food rations so you can feed your space peasants. The game’s visual design takes a lot of cues from popular sci-fi console games like Mass Effect, but the artwork is excellent and the game itself is beautiful to look at, full of visually distinct buildings and intricate animations. Even parts of the GUI are attractive.

Wizard Hex Review (iPhone)

5th of January 2011
Gamezebo Rating: 80

One of my main reasons for wanting an iPad was the promise of playing digital versions of board games with an even better setup than my iPod touch. The idea of putting the iPad down on the table to really simulate the experience was too good to resist. So far I’ve been rewarded handsomely for my purchase with games like Small World and Carcassonne filling my time. Now I can add Wizard Hex, a game playable on both my iPad and iPod Touch, to that list!

Simple, yet addictive TD game!

Emo Winter Fashion

This time of year is perfect for the Emo, they love the cold and wet weather as much as they love feeling sad.

Mishap 2: An Intentional Haunting Review (Downloads)

4th of January 2011
Gamezebo Rating: 80

Play enough hidden object games, and it becomes so easy to spot the bowling balls, quill pens, and boots that you can practically finish a level without even checking your item list. One can only arrange a room full of junk so many ways, after all; it's inevitable that they all start to feel a bit alike. Then there's Mishap 2: An Intentional Haunting, a HOG with levels so intricately arranged and deftly layered that you may, for the first time in ages, find yourself reaching for that hint button – repeatedly.
