Somehow it seems we're already a month into 2012. Time sure does fly! A lot happened in the games industry this week, and pretty much all of it had to do with plagiarism. People were accused of copying other people's games, people denied copying other people's games, and people even filed lawsuits about people copying their games. It was a crazy week, and here's everything that happened. |

Team Slots is yet another iteration on the growing deluge of slots apps, and with it comes a whole new selection of visuals and mini-games set within a quasi-gambling atmosphere. Though solid in its own right, little of the core play is unique. But this particular title does come with one interesting gimmick that brings a moderate amount of competition to the gaming table. |

Free-to-play games have a tremendous potential to be fantastic deals due to their optimal price tag. That said, there is often a challenge in finding that sweet spot between how much in-app content need be purchased without limiting the game in general. Glu Mobile’s new iOS release, Rogue Racing, walks that line a bit hap-hazardly. Well-paced and visually appealing for a free mobile racer, it presses a bit too hard in trying to get players to pay-to-play in a way that hinders the experience. |

Smash the Block is the next release by Spilt Milk Studios, who've brought us games like Hard Lines and Crunch the Game. Smash the Block looks to take the classic Breakout and Arkanoid style of ball and paddle game and bring it to the iOS App Store. |

In spite of many iOS titles now exploring gameplay depth on par with console experiences, it’s still great to have those go-to games you can pull out for a quick fix. Superflick by Ruma Studios offers players a tight package that’s easy to pick up and play, but it is, unfortunately, just as easy to put down and forget about. |

If you’re a fan of adventure games and happen to be in your thirties, you’ll no doubt have found memories of the glory days of Sierra. Specifically, the Sierra “Quest” games like King’s Quest, Space Quest, and Police Quest. And if you happen to have a hankering for reliving those memories, GOG.com has a tremendous deal on this weekend. |

Take a trip to London in Big City Adventure: London Story. The game begins in the Egyptian wing of the British Museum. You arrive just in time to interrupt a possible theft. The thief escapes, but not before they drop a note that will send you on a hunt all around London, looking for the hidden treasure of Fitzpatrick McGovern. Along the way you will be solving puzzles, searching through hidden object scenes, and helping out a variety of different characters. |

Fortune Summoners looks like it has everything it needs to be the perfect homage to old-school action RPGs. It's got adorable characters, stellar production values, and starts out with a promising story. So how do things become so mediocre so quickly? The answer, it turns out, is a little complicated. |
